Though I am a few years removed from the hassles of on-campus living, I feel like voicing my displeasure for the current rules that students must follow when living on S.U.'s campus. For instance, during breaks you have to be out of the dorm no later than the morning of the official day the break starts. When I was living at Seavers a few years ago I had to wait for a ride to come pick me to go home for break. It was early in the morning of the first official day of the break (I can't remember which one) and I had an entire staff of R.A.'s at my door telling me I had to get out. I was leaving that day anyways but they made me wait outside of my apartment until my ride got there.
A similar thing happened to me freshmen year... this time I had a night class the night before the first official day of break. I wound up spending the night at a friend's place in Stoneridge. But i spent the whole afternoon packing up and moving all of my things I needed to bring home to Stoneridge when I had an exam that I should have been studying for. What I'm trying to get at here is that there needs to be a change in the rules regarding students staying at their residence during break. They need to make it easier for students that need to stay in their dorms for breaks to do so.
I'm still trying to figure out why Ship didn't make spring break coincide with Easter. Just about everything on campus is closed and everyone goes home. Leaving those who have to stay behind completely stranded. Although I was able to get Easter dinner in the way of Chinese food.
Baseball season is upon us! Those of you living in Shippensburg or Chambersburg throughout the spring and summer should find something else to do. The "local" teams around here are the Pirates, Orioles, and Nationals... all of which could possibly finish with the top 3 worst records in baseball. Lucky for me, I'll be home watching Phillies baseball, which only airs around here during the weekends on the CW network.
Finally, If you go to missbimbo.com you will come across a wonderful game thats sets a fine example for the children.
